One of the companies I partner with is Autumn Lane Paperie , a successful design business based in Southern California. I’ve fulfilled various jobs for them, including as a blog post contributor as well as SEO. Now, of course, I’m self employed performing optimization and content creation.
My niche at ALP was called Brand Brag. I got to write about inspiring people who have overcome situations and moved forward regardless. The subdivision still exists, and has a similar focus but aimed a bit more in the direction of the actual branding rather than the client.
Each spotlight page in my Brand Brag blog posts on the ALP site features an entrepreneur who has had the Autumn Lane designers create a new custom logo. It can be a new brand or a re-branding to update their business image. It’s uncanny how well each logo and branding piece fit the personality of the company and the owner! Here, I’ll show you some of the feature pages I’ve created. Click on each link to see the blog posts (the pages themselves are way too large to show here).
Here’s a spotlight piece featuring a harpist/storyteller based in Austria! I first met Isabelle Hauser when she was looking at premade logos as the basis for her business branding. She wanted to incorporate a harp, though, and adding graphics to a premade logo would make it a custom order. Plus, we were having quite a time finding the right harp. It had to be ethereal, with a fairy tale feel to it.
After months of searching, Isabelle made the move to a custom logo and purchased a basic branding package . That includes a logo, 2 secondary logos, and everything she needed to put her brand to work. Look at the brand board image on her feature blog post. Don’t you agree that her logo is absolutely perfect?
Stephanie Lopes had plans to attend photography school, but 2 weeks before classes were to begin, the school closed down! What would you do in that situation? Probably she lost all the fees and prepaid tuition that she had to send for enrollment. Finding another school was doubtless out of the question. So, Stephanie took a year to work and study on her own, determined to start her own business, S&Company Portrait Photography.
As you can see from her Brand Brag feature page, Stephanie has a style all her own. By the way, that’s Stephanie in black tee shirt and jeans. She wanted a simple logo that would be timeless and adaptable to whatever she photographed. And it would be used to watermark her photos. Take a look at her brand board and see what you think!
Kelsey Aldinger and Kelsey Baty have been lifelong friends. Even though they now live hundreds of miles apart, with different careers and family situations, they still stay in touch. Life events will happen, and we all need someone to rejoice with us, or comfort us, or just listen. And Craving Connection podcasts is their way of helping others to keep those communication threads strong.
KA and KB record their podcasts each week, usually each in her own city (Dallas and Houston). What started as a hobby is now well on its way to being full time. Their vision for their new logo was to give it the ‘connection’ feel and keep it simple enough to watermark videos in the future.
Life is not all about SEO, yet somehow it is!
It’s such a hoot that I’m able to write content about varied individuals and businesses. Each one is different from others in the same group, with unique features. Photographers, even in the same niche, have their own styles and locations. Bakers decorate cakes in entirely different ways. And writers get to portray them all!
Now, back to Autumn Lane Paperie. On my home page you’ll notice a sidebar on the right, and under the heading of Affiliates, there’s an image. ALP has introduced a collection of fantastic and responsive Premade Websites! Simply click on the ALP image (example in the left column here) and it will whisk you right to the correct page. There’s a great explanation of how the PW process works, and ordering is ridiculously easy.
SEO is crucial, it’s true, but first you really should have something to optimize. Get started with an instant website! (full disclosure: when you order, yes, I will make a few pennies)
